How do I edit a device name?
You can log into our admin website and click Dashboard.
1. Click the blue Edit button for the Device you wish to rename.
2. Change the name and/or desciption in the popup.
3. Press the Save button
How do I Deactivate a device?
Scroll through the list and find the device that matches the one you wish to deactivate. Both the Device Name and Mac Address will be visible on the bottom of the login screen. Once you found the correct device, click the Deactivate button.
You can reactivate this device at any time by selecting the "Show Active Only?" Checkbox and clicking Activate. More information on how to do this can be found here.
How do I reactivate a previously used device?, OR technicians are seeing the below:
Error: This Device Has Been Set To "Inactive" and Cannot Be Used At This Time
The error message is received when the device you're attempting to log in on has been set to "inactive" in the system. Devices are set to inactive by the SWRemote team to mark them as "not in use" preventing your company from being billed for devices that are not being used.
Click the checkbox that says Show Active Only?
Scroll through the list and find the device that matches the one you wish to reactivate. Both the Device Name and Mac Address will be visible on the bottom of the login screen. Once you found the correct device, click the Activate button.
Once the Activate button as been selected, it should look like it does below, where all the devices only have deactivate as an option.
How do I find the Mac Address on my device to match it up to the Admin Site?
This will be at the bottom of the login screen just above the Device Name, labeled as Code, as seen below.
From the login screen you can also determine what your device name is.
Although this field is labeled as Mac Address, in one of their previous iOS updates, Apple does not allow us to use the Mac Address anymore. In its place we are using an internal identifier, which should stay the same in most cases, outside of a factory reset.
